The Best Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe

How To Make Southern Buttermilk Biscuits From Scratch

Place 8 tbs or 1 stick of butter in the freezer and 3/4 cup of buttermilk in the freezer for 25 -30 minutes

In a big bowl combine 2 cups of All Purpose Flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of baking soda, and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon

Stir well for 2-3 minutes

Add the cold stick or 8 tbs of butter to the flour mixture and mush it into the flour until the flour turn into a bunch of crumbs

Create a hole in the middle of the flour/butter crumbs and poor the buttermilk into that space brush the crumbs into the buttermilk and began to pat it as it turns into a big ball of dough (almost like clay-dough)

Sprinkle a few tbs of flour onto a flat surface

Flatten dough out onto the surface and coat each side of the dough with the flour

Turn oven to 450 to pre heat

Pull the dough apart and make biscuit size shapes with your hands or biscuit cutter

Place the biscuits in the baking pan

Rub some additional butter on top of biscuits

Bake for 15 minutes and an additional 3 minutes in the broiler

Add honey if you choose
