Thousands flee poisonous gas after volcano erupts – BBC News

Thousands of people have fled after Indonesia’s Ile Lewotolok volcano erupted, spewing smoke and gas 4km (2.5 miles) into the sky.

Authorities in the country, which has the world’s most active volcanoes, have warned people of poisonous gas and lava streams.
