How real Wisconsin cheese curds are made at this 60-year-old creamery

If you had to name one food from Wisconsin, there’s no doubt the answer would be cheese curds. And one company by the name of Renard’s Cheese is known for making some of the best cheese curds in Door County. Renard’s was founded in 1961 and has been in the business of making artisanal cheese for over 57 years. Now in its third generation of cheesemakers, the Renard family is committed to maintaining the tradition of handcrafted cheese. Insider’s Medha Imam visits the creamery and meets master cheesemaker Chris Renard to get a behind-the-scenes look at how they produce the squeaky, savory snack.
