There are conflicting signals about the likelihood of a second presidential debate between President Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
The plan was to hold a virtual debate because of Mr Trump’s treatment for Covid, but the President has said that would be a waste of his time.
The two sides are now considering the possibility of delaying the event by a week, to allow a second face-to-face encounter.
The Vice-Presidential debate has taken place between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris.
