Can Pinterest Challenge Facebook And Google?

Google and Facebook have a stranglehold on the digital advertising sphere, and while many speculate that Amazon could become a third contender, Pinterest president Tim Kendall thinks his digital platform can “absolutely” break the Google-Facebook duopoly. While speaking at Business Insider’s IGNITION conference in New York on Wednesday, Kendall said that Google and Facebook have built “phenomenal engines for when people already know what they want…But when you think about the domain of marketing where I don’t quite know what I want, a lot of those dollars are still out there.” And that’s where Pinterest comes in. Kendall believes that Pinterest can help consumers “discover stuff that they’re excited about and love.”
